PETA’S SEXY LADIES IN RED TO URGE MELBOURNE RESIDENTS TO EAT KINDER – GO VEGAN

MEDIA ALERT – MEDIA ALERT – MEDIA ALERT

Lingerie-Clad Duo Aim to Turn Heads and Change Hearts in Run-Up to Valentine’s Day

What:              Wearing show-stopping red lingerie that’s bound to draw more than a few second glances, two red-hot members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Australia will hand out vegetarian/vegan starter kits to passers-by at a busy downtown Melbourne intersection on Wednesday. The lovely ladies’ point? That Valentine’s Day – a holiday that celebrates love – is right around the corner and that animals raised on cruel factory farms and killed in terrifying abattoirs never have a holiday.

“As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’re asking people to extend a little love to cows, chickens, pigs and other animals who know nothing but misery every day of their lives”, says PETA woman in red. “With so many delicious foods available that don’t contain meat or animal products, there’s never been a better time to go vegan – for your health, for animals and for the planet.”

Besides causing the daily suffering of billions of animals raised and killed for food, the consumption of meat and other animal products has been linked to heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, cancer and even impotence – not a very sexy thought for Valentine’s Day. And raising animals for food is a leading cause of water consumption and pollution, land degradation and the greenhouse-gas emissions responsible for climate change.
