‘Earth’ Beauty Renee Somerfield’s Plea for the Planet

Maxim cover girl and swimsuit model Renee Somerfield is used to posing for the camera in the tiniest of bikinis. But in her new ad for PETA Australia, which was shot by top photographer Neil Dixon, the vegan beauty wears even less – nothing, to be exact.

Painted to resemble Earth, with bodypainting by Skincognito (Julie Tattam and Jade Little) using vegan bodypaints by Global Colours BodyArt PRO, Renee urges her fans to make one simple change that can save the planet: try vegan.

As Renee explains in her exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with PETA, raising and killing animals for food is a major source of greenhouse gases which contribute to climate change. The meat, egg and dairy industries also waste precious resources and pollute the air and water.

“The campaign is about global warming”, Renee says. “It’s about meat production being one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gases.”
