PETA Virtual Event: Global Compassion Fund Fireside Chat

Posted on by PETA Australia

Please join PETA’s Global Compassion Fund–supported teams as they brave bombs and crater-ravaged roads to pull animals out of war-torn Ukraine and deliver them to safety. We’ll take you as close to the front line as anyone can get without a flak jacket.

Date: Thursday, 23 February
Time: 7 pm AEDST
Place: Online

It’s been a year since Russian troops invaded Ukraine, and PETA Germany has been on the ground – supported by the Global Compassion Fund – since only days after the war started to help thousands of animals. PETA UK Vice President of UK Programmes & Operations Elisa Allen will be taking you along with these brave rescuers as they dodge rocket attacks and scour destroyed towns to find abandoned or injured animals.

You’ll be moved by the powerful stories of the animals who suddenly found themselves all alone, left to survive in a wasteland of landmines and crumbling buildings. Watch as rescuers lure them from hiding, scoop them up, and face challenges head-on as they carry them far from the terrifying noises of war and into safe shelters.

Please invite everyone you know to tune in, too. Anyone who has ever known and loved an animal will be grateful you did, as these rescue teams offer hope at a time of great destruction.
