REWARD: $5,000 TO CATCH CROC KILLER
Authorities are appealing for information regarding the death of a crocodile who was shot in the head and found in the Fitzroy River near Rockhampton. The animal was 5.2 metres long and was estimated from his size to be between 80 and 100 years old. PETA is offering up to $5,000 as a reward for information leading to the identification and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this horrific crime.

Animal abusers are cowards, we’re appealing to anyone with information about this cruel act to come forward so that the perpetrator never shoots an animal again.
Crocodiles are a protected species, and it is an offence under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 to kill a crocodile. The maximum penalty for killing an “iconic” crocodile – meaning one greater than 5 metres in length – is $28,383.75.
