This Hotel Chain Has Vegan Duvets Around the World

News / This Hotel Chain Has Vegan Duvets Around the World
5 April 2025

Great news for birds! voco hotels has confirmed to PETA UK that its bedding is 100% vegan. The British multinational InterContinental Hotels Group brand, with hotels in Australia and worldwide, sets an industry-leading stance for others to follow.

Hotels With Down-Free Bedding

Hotels around the world are moving towards compassionate bedding. AC Hotels, Forty-Seven, Moxy Hotels in the UK, Green Spirit Hotels in France, Club Med hotels worldwide, and all 21 Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brands in the US and Canada use only down-free bedding.

Why Vegan Bedding Prevents Animal Suffering

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) claims to ensure that down and feathers come from birds who have not been subjected to any “unnecessary harm.” Yet PETA Asia’s investigation into RDS-certified farms in Russia where goose down is sourced revealed that workers violently tore out live geese’s feathers and beheaded terrified birds with blunt axes.

Vietnamese duck farms visited by PETA Asia investigators showed birds crammed into filthy sheds, forced to live on wire flooring, or confined to dirt lots strewn with faeces.
