Vegan Royal Poutine Is Here, Just in Time for the Duchess

Posted on by PETA Australia

To celebrate the royal couple’s October tour of Australia, PETA Business Friend Lord of the Fries (LOTF) has unveiled a signature dish created and named in honour of Duchess Meghan Markle.

The Duchess’ favourite food is poutine (fries smothered in cheese curds and gravy), even though she eats vegan most of the time.

But thanks to LOTF, she can now have her poutine and eat it, too – all while being kind to cows.

Cows on dairy farms in Australia are repeatedly and forcibly impregnated and then separated from their newborn calves so that their milk can be sold for human consumption. Many calves are then shot or bludgeoned to death with hammers, while others are sent to the slaughterhouse to be killed for veal. No cheesy poutine is worth so much suffering.

The Royal Poutine is topped with vegan blue cheese and gravy. This limited-edition creation is – much like the Duchess herself – down-to-earth while being fit for royalty.

Hopefully, the Duchess will get the opportunity to try it while she’s here!
