Singer Sienna Spiro Gives Rescue Dogs ‘Their Encore’ in New Adoption Campaign for PETA UK
08.08
Sydney – Fresh off the release of her debut album, Visitor, singer Sienna Spiro is starring in a new PETA UK campaign alongside rescue dog Tim, urging everyone to always adopt animals from shelters and never buy them from breeders or online retailers. In an accompanying video shot at The Mayhew, an animal shelter in Northwest London, several adoptable dogs and cats steal the show while Spiro takes time to remind everyone that “[animals] are for life, and you have to commit to them.”

“Animals have always been very, very important to me … my dogs have always been my best friends,” Spiro shares. “One thing I hope people take away from this is definitely to adopt and not shop … and maybe not just go for a kitten or a puppy. Maybe go for one that’s had an amazing history.”
As PETA points out, shelters are bursting at the seams – and every time a breeder sells a puppy, a dog waiting in an animal shelter or struggling to survive on the streets loses their chance at finding a loving home. Spiro says, “There’s thousands and thousands of amazing animals that really need homes.”
Spiro joins a long list of celebrities – including Tove Lo, Gavin Rossdale, Tim Burton, Brian Cox, Tom Hardy, Sasha Farber, Connie Crayden, and Greg James – who have teamed up with PETA and its international entities to promote animal adoption.
PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way” – points out that when it comes to the ability to feel pain, hunger, and thirst, a pig is a dog is a boy For more information, please visit PETA.org.au and follow PETA on Facebook and Instagram.
