The Beyond Burger packs 20 grams of vegan protein in each patty and is a dead-ringer for a real ground-beef burger. It’s available in select IGA stores in NSW, Victoria, and WA, and at Coles in NSW alone.

Tofurky

Whether you fancy thick and chunky Beer Brats, Deli Slices, or some Jumbo Hot Dogs, Tofurky has you covered. And if you’re looking for a roast alternative this festive season, you can’t go past their Christmas Tofurky roast with stuffing! Find their products at Woolworths most IGA stores nationwide. You can also search for stockists here or follow Tofurky on Facebook.

Gardein

Gardein products finally arrived in Australia this year, bringing a whole heap of tasty new meatless options to our shores. The Chipotle Black Bean Burgers are great on the barbie, or if you’re cooking indoors this year, why not try the delicious Chick’n Scallopini or add some Sweet & Sour Porkless Bites to a stir-fry? IGA is the major stockist for Gardein. Some products are now available in selected Spar stores, or find more stockists here.

Linda McCartney Vegetarian Sausages

An original food pioneer, Linda McCartney believed in great-tasting, honest, meat-free food, and her products continue to delight the taste buds today. These sausages are quick, easy and full of flavour. Find them in Woolworths and other major supermarkets. For more on the McCartney family’s commitment to animals, watch videos here and here.

Soyco Flavoured Tofu

These deliciously flavoured, chunky tofu slices can be eaten straight from the packet – or charred on the barbeque for a smoky finish. They taste great chopped into salads and make a yummy addition to a burger bun or sandwich. If you’ve never tried tofu, this is a great introduction. The flavouring has already been done for you, so all you need to do is enjoy!

Find them at ColesWoolies and other local stores.

You can pick up Syndian sausages and burger patties from major supermarket giants like Coles and Woolworths as well as IGAs and health food stores.  All of their products are gluten free, so they’re perfect for coeliacs and their Italian Sun-dried Tomato Sausages contain no garlic or onion which makes them a favourite among those with FODMAP requirements.

Even More Choices

With all these fantastic options, you can enjoy a cruelty-free Christmas without compromising on flavour. Once you’ve eaten your way through these delicious dishes, expand your horizons in 2016 with even more meat alternatives.
