Good News for Minks: Sephora Bans Fur Eyelashes

Posted on by Dan H

Following pressure from PETA and our international affiliates and after receiving e-mails from more than 280,000 of our supporters worldwide, Sephora – the world’s leading beauty retailer – confirmed that it has banned fur eyelashes!

Whether it’s a pair of false eyelashes or a coat, every item made from minks comes from the cruel fur industry. Minks are solitary animals with a home range of several miles. They are naturally terrified of humans and like to climb and swim. But on fur farms, they’re imprisoned in cramped cages that are often caked with faeces, hair, and rotten food. The animals frequently exhibit signs of captivity-induced insanity, including frantic pacing and self-mutilation, and suffer from infections, gaping wounds, and other injuries that commonly go untreated. At the end of their short, miserable lives, farmers kill them by using the cheapest methods available, like gassing, electrocution, and neck-breaking.

Despite knowing about this cruelty, some companies continue to peddle fur lashes. Please, help animals who are suffering right now by urging Lilly Lashes and Velour to drop these cruelly produced items immediately.
